Richly decorated tapering ovoid porcelain vase and cover in the traditional Imari palette with iron reds and colbalt blues with gilded highlights , having vignette panels featuring exotic birds , peonies and chrysanthemum flower-heads . The dome cover lid surmounted with a mythical lion dog or ‘komainu’.
The body of the vase in excellent condition, the lid having on historic chip to the edge .
