Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Flight, Barr and Barr (18131840) represents a peak period of manufacturing at the Worcester porcelain works. Their Regency-era production is distinguished by exceptional soft-paste ceramic bodies, elaborate mercury gilding, precise hand-painted pictorial reserves, and Classical Campana or urn-shaped forms.

These pieces were slip-cast or wheel-thrown using fine porcelain clay before undergoing an initial firing. Skilled artisans then applied hand-painted enamels for landscape or figurative panels and added mercury amalgam gilding, which was fired again and burnished using agate tools to achieve a high sheen.

Authentic items typically feature impress marks such as FBB beneath a crown or printed backstamps reading Flight, Barr & Barr Worcester Manufacturers to their Majesties. The quality of the gilding, the presence of beaded pearl borders, and the precision of the hand-painted enamels also assist in identification.

Pairing antique porcelain urns with contemporary surfaces creates a striking focal point. Placing them symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, console table, or sideboard allows their gilded details and painted panels to elevate the surrounding room.

Gilded porcelain should be dusted lightly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or an ostrich feather duster. Avoid abrasive cleaners, chemical solvents, and immersion in water, as moisture can compromise gilded finishes or seep into hairline cracks.
