Description

A superb Georgian fusee dial wall clock. A 12" convex painted dial signed GEO DAWSON SUDBURY'' with blued steel serpentine hands. A mahogany case case of good colour with a concave brass bezel surround and convex glass. The original key and lock to the bezel and brass winding key. An 8-day duration fusee timepiece mechanism with tapered plates. Circa 1820.

George Dawson of Sudbury is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1810-55.

Height/Width 13 1/2" / 34cms Depth 6 " / 16 cms.
