English Silver Plated Figural Sugar Box - Scuttle C.1920

Description

A wonderfully decorative and fun sugar box, in the form of a coal scuttle complete with the shovel that sits in it's cradle at the back.

The stylish box stands on it's original four ball feet with a matching ball finial used to open the lid of the box. The sides are beautifully decorated with intricate repousse or embossed work with a complimentary engraved lid.

The underside is marked "Made In England" which dates it to around 1920, together with EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

Charm all the way and a useful little storage container for almost anything. Excellent condition, measuring approximately 8" x 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" tall to top of carrying handle.
