Description

A very beautiful early Spode dessert plate with shaped, lobed rim, and decorated in the Worcester style of the 1770s. A glossy, deep underglaze mazarine blue ground with a large central reserve painted with garden flowers in bright enamels. Lots of very fine and opulent gilding elevates the piece above those of its original inspiration. Red SPODE mark to the reverse and pattern number 3162, c.1806-1808.

It measures 21.6cm (8 1/2") wide and 2cm (3/4") high.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and very minor handling wear.
