Cast Iron Hall Stand C.1890

19th century
Description

Splendid late 19th.c. cast iron hallstand c.1890. Three pairs of large double hooks for hats and coats etc over a holder for walking canes and umbrellas. Arranged on a central column cast with twist and and acanthus leaf detail over an octagonal drip tray with four large paw feet. Unusually the position of the hooks is adjustable, locking into place with a screw at the rear. Note also the large finial at the top of the column and lions heads at the ends of the hooks. Good condition with later overpainting. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
