Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The interior features Mother-of-Pearl Lustre with green stainings and a large central butterfly motif, hand-painted in iridescent detail. Measuring 5.2 cm high and 9.5 cm wide, this is a notable collector’s piece, documented in Wedgwood’s Decoration Book and highly desirable to serious collectors of Art Deco ceramics. With early Lustre becoming scarcer each year, pieces like this are increasingly viewed as both works of art and investment objects. The lustre colours are far more vivid in reality than any photograph can show; reflections in images are not defects.

Condition: Excellent antique condition.
