Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated these Porcelain Figural Flower Carts to the 19th Century.
The oval bases carry sponged earth-tone coloring typical for Thuringian porcelain of the late nineteenth century. Painting in a Dresden-style pastel palette with raised “pearl” gilding — a noted Kister finish. Underglaze blue “KPM” over crossed strokes, impressed 1445-9; vent hole. From 1877 Professor Reinhard Möller directed the artistic department. In the 1890s Kister broadened production with pairs and centerpieces — dancers, dancing couples, historical figures — and lace figures taking inspiration from early Meissen prototypes. Comparable Kister groups include carts, sledges and children with barrows in the same palette and raised gilding. A desirable and well-preserved pair with secure Kister attribution and clear collector appeal.
