One of the finest example''s of an early ''''Bosun''s'''' Persuader I have bought....these collectable items were used by senior non commissioned naval officers to be used to keep sailors in line and to press-gang those men that were unwilling to join the naval service....this one is made of baleen covered thread shaft, which comes from the mouth of the baleen whale....it is weighted at both ends with lead and covered in fine thread on one end, ....excellent condition with a fine patina.
