Description

Brussels tin-glazed faience jug of baluster form with moulded mask spout; grand-feu painted décor à la haie fleurie and lambrequins to the neck; red scrolls to the handle; floral foot. Underglaze cobalt “R” inside the foot (workman’s mark typical for Brussels).

Period: c.1760–1790. Origin: Brussels, Belgium.

Condition: rim chips with old filler/toning; small glaze loss by the handle; minor fritting and firing specks; no cracks detected.

Size/weight: H 28.5 cm; body Ø 15.5 cm; width over handle 17 cm; 1.272 kg.
