Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Arita porcelain refers to Japanese ceramics manufactured around the town of Arita in Hizen Province. Originating in the early seventeenth century, this porcelain is celebrated for its translucent white body decorated with underglaze cobalt blue brushwork.

Arita porcelain is crafted from kaolin-rich stone, shaped and fired at high temperatures to form a hard-paste body. The intricate decoration is hand-painted using cobalt oxide pigment directly onto the unglazed or biscuit-fired surface before applying a clear glaze for the final firing.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces feature hand-painted underglaze blue designs displaying minor variations in tone and brushwork. Marks such as the Fuku (good fortune) character on the base, along with characteristic firing marks and slight unevenness in the glaze, indicate hand craftspersonship of the era.

Small porcelain dishes can be displayed on acrylic or wooden stands atop a sideboard, mantlepiece, or within a curated cabinet. They may also be wall-mounted in symmetrical arrangements to provide artistic focus in contemporary living spaces.

Clean porcelain items gently using lukewarm water and mild liquid soap with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid machine washing, harsh chemical solvents, or extreme temperature shifts, and store pieces with protective padding between surfaces.
