Antique Metalware 17thc Brass Fish Slice From The Manor House Kitchen. English C1670-90.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A fine quality late 17thc brass cooking slice from the manor / farmhouse kitchen, where it would have been used to remove fish / meat from the cooking pot, straining the water away as it is lifted onto a plate......the slice has a very nice ''heart'' decoration to the inside of the handle, something I have not seen before on a domestic item.....it is in very good condition with an attractive mellow colour to the brass, that comes with age ....the slice is cast in one piece...no damage, just natural signs of its great age.

English. C1670-90.
