Irish Royal Dublin Fusiliers Officer's Belt Clasp

19th century
Description

An Irish, Royal Dublin Fusiliers Officer's belt clasp, the circular plate with a central harp motif over a grenade and the Royal Tiger on 'Plassey' and Elaphant on 'Mysore' over the motto 'Spectamur Agendo'. The pattern of the clasp is 1881-1901.

The buckle has been lead loaded at the rear for use and a desk weight and is now rigid and inoperable. The buckle has been heavily polished so retains no original gilt.
