Description

A beautiful Victorian ring in rich 15-carat gold with a pretty marquise-shaped sardonyx panel carved into the form of a forget-me-not flower. In the Victorian language of flowers forget me nots symbolised remembrance, true love and loyalty, a powerful reminder of a love lost.

SIZE: L and a half (UK), 6 (US). The front panel measures approximately 4 x 1mm and the band is 5mm wide.

WEIGHT: 1.8g.

MATERIALS: 15-carat (625) gold, sardonyx, pearl.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Hallmarked for 15-carat gold, Birmingham 1873.

CONDITION: The ring is in very good antique condition. There would originally have been plaited hairwork along the length of the band but this is no longer present.

ERA: Victorian, 1873.
