Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A very nice quality 19thc brass veterinary fleam, engraved with the owners name G. Lapscomb....it still retains the original leather case....fleams were used right up to the end of the 20thc for blood letting in horses and cattle...in fact I remember seeing a vet use a fleam on a sick cow, as a young boy on my family farm and being surprised at how quickly the animal recovered....the fleam is in very good condition and a real collectors piece.

English. C1870-90.
