Antique 10.90ct High Zircon and 18ct Yellow Gold Solitaire Ring Circa 1910

1900 - 1920
For Sale by AC Silver
Description

A stunning, fine and impressive antique Edwardian 10.90 carat high zircon and 18 carat yellow gold solitaire ring; part of our collection of gemstone engagement rings.

This stunning, fine and impressive Edwardian engagement ring has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.

This substantial antique gemstone ring displays an impressive and large claw set 10.90ct round faceted cut high zircon.

The elevated, pierced decorated ring shoulders integrate with the main setting and blending seamlessly with the ring shank.

The ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the 18ct gold mark (18CT) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold.

This impressive antique zircon solitaire ring is supplied with an IDGL gemstone grading report card.

This striking blue high zircon ring in gold makes an evocative gift for graduations, birthdays or significant milestones - ideal for those drawn to statement jewels with enduring sophistication.

NOTE: * A high zircon is a natural zircon which has not suffered damage from self-radiation during the process of the stone's creation; their gemmological properties are higher for density, hardness and refractive index. The zircon has high lustre and dispersion, in addition to the appearance of extra facets facilitated by double-refraction; each of these factors provides fine brilliance and flashes of fire.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Condition

This stunning gemstone solitaire ring is excellent quality, set with an impressive high zircon displaying stunning colour, brilliance and presence.

The ring is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition, with a partially clear hallmark to the interior of the shank.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this stunning gold high zircon solitaire ring.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Crafted between 1901 and 1915, Edwardian gemstone solitaire rings typically feature prominent central stones held in multi-claw settings made of gold or platinum, showcasing refined metalwork and classic symmetrical proportions.

Early 20th-century zircon rings commonly paired natural high zircons with 18ct yellow gold or platinum settings, utilising double or quadruple claw mountings to secure the substantial gemstone.

Authentic pieces from this period often bear historical gold hallmarks, display hand-cut gemstone faceting with distinctive double refraction under magnification, and show light wear consistent with age around the claw settings.

A large antique solitaire ring serves as a focal statement piece when worn alone on the index or ring finger, complementing contemporary tailored evening wear or minimal monochrome outfits.

Clean zircon and gold jewellery using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the stones facets or alter the metals finish.
