A George III period early Worcester porcelain cup and saucer, c.1770. With fluted and scalloped rims and painted in the ‘Dragon In Compartments’ pattern in bright polychrome enamels. The very decorative primary colours of red, blue, purple, green and yellow make this an ever desirable pattern. Under glazed blue faux Chinese seal marks to the base of both.
Teacup: Diameter of bowl 6.6cm, height of teacup 5.5cm. Saucer: 13.7cm diameter.
Both pieces in overall good condition, two minor nibbles to the base rim of the teacup probably in the manufacture, some light surface wear to the decoration and gilt edges as expected with age and use however this does not. The decoration vibrant a very attractive piece which displays well. Please be guided by the photographs for condition and please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
