Antique Afshar Neriz rug with a small medallion and boteh design.
 
Circa 1900
 
A good example of a Afshar Neriz rug with the typical firm weave and depressed warp structure. The rug has a small central medallion on an ivory coloured ground which is surrounded by small birds. The main field is in dark indigo blue and is covered in small boteh. The borders are of a traditional Afshar design.
 
The rug is in fair condition with some wear and medium / low pile, there is wear to the side bindings. The condition is reflected in the price.
 
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
