Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1860s.
, this one is undoubtedly made by the same silversmith, but unmarked.

What is rather special about this example is that it comes complete with original base complete with the original mirrored top, these are almost always missing or replaced, this one cast with rocks and foliage. This base is fitted around a solid Mahogany frame.

The working is quite stunning with a large Stag eating from the Oak Tree and to the left of the Stag is a Fawn lying down. The tree is beautifully cast with intricate Oak Leaf and Acorns covering the branches, all three arms of the candelabra are removable and each numbered one through three to match up with the corresponding labelled holes for them to fit into, they will only fit in the correct order.

The heavy cut crystal bowl rests on the top of the tree, thick and heavy and exquisitely cut in the form of Oak Leaves.
Exquisite in every way, you won't come across another (nor will I). The footprint of the base measures approximately 16 inches across.
