A Mouseman side table by Robert Thompson or Mousey Thompson of Kilburn, North Yorkshire. This table was made in approximately 1920 by Robert Thompson himself as a gift for a friend who lived in Harrogate, North Yorks at the time. This was before he started his workshop in Kilburn, so a very early piece. The lady in question passed this table to her daughter, who herself has recently passed at the age of 93.The table has been cherished over the years, and is in fabulous condition. The oak is beautifully aged, with a wonderful deep colour, and with the addition of the finely carved mouse on the stretcher, (unlike the workshop items which are placed on the leg) gives this piece a truly unique appeal.
