Longcase Clock Muzzle Horsham

19th century
Description

A Georgian mahogany longcase clock. A flat moulded hood pediment with hood side columns. A slim case to the pale mahogany colour. A very attractive, early example of a painted dial with strawberries and floral corners with blued steel hands. A 30 hour mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Cornelius Muzzle of Horsham is recorded in Baillies' 'Watch and Clockmakers of the World' book as working 1793-1797.
