Antique Japanese Edo Period Woon Netsuke Of A Sarumawashi

A fine Japanese Edo period wood netsuke, beautifully hand carved to depict a Japanese monkey trainer (Sarumawashi) resting contently on his drum as a happy little monkey clambers over his back. This lovely netsuke has a large and small himatoshi on the underside (typical of the period) and has a wonderful patina through handling over time, it is in excellent condition and measures 2 inches in length.
