George III Chippendale Mahogany Gallery Tray Circa 1765

18th century
Description

Superb George III Chippendale mahogany shaped oblong tray with wonderful spindle gallery. Beautifully made with all round cleats to keep it flat. This has always been a tray NOT the top of a tripod table. All in fine original condition with just a very small repair to one corner of the gallery - just glued back together - no replacement parts. Fine original patina with a few spill marks to surface and with great waxed patina. (line that can be seen on back is a scratch not a crack). FRESH ON MARKET STRAIGHT FROM SCOTTISH MANSION HOUSE.

Size; 24" x 17", 2" high gallery.
