Description

A lovely example of a Victorian needle case. This was most likely patented for the engagement or marriage of Princess Louise to the future Duke of Argyll so dates to 1870-1871. The front is decorated with the crown the name Louise new patent folding needle case. The reverse is decorated with roses and thistle. Inside there are four compartments for needles each one decorated with a beehive numbered 6 7 8 & 9. The condition is very good commensurate with age and use, some discolouration to the back in one small area, please study the photographs for the condition.
