Castleforge Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Below this are five pigeon holes to the centre, with three small drawers to each side, all of which are mahogany lined with original fret work fronts with a key. The small drawer on a right operates as a pen tray. The top of the desk has a gold embossed leather writing surface with a moulded edge. There is a long drawer over the knee hole with carved corner supports underneath it. Both sides have two graduating drawers which are the same as the small top drawers with a key. To each side of all of the drawers is a carved rectangular panel. It stands on square tapered legs which have carved corner supports to the top and it stands on a spade foot on castors.
