Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the late 19th century, small gold boxes were crafted as decorative containers for personal items such as pills, snuff, or small keepsakes. These items often featured detailed hand-engraving and glass apertures showcasing pressed botanicals or miniature artwork.

Victorian craftsmen frequently utilized gold alloys, such as 15-carat gold, alongside silver, enamel, and glass. High-end examples combined intricate engine-turning or chased floral patterns with hand-assembled botanical inserts.

Authentic pieces from this era often bear British hallmarks or specific fineness stamps, although some remain unmarked. Key indicators include hand-chased foliage, original glass panels, and characteristic 19th-century hinge construction.

These compact decorative objects work well when layered on a bedside table, vanity tray, or styled alongside modern artwork on a bookshelf. Combining historic metalwork with clean contemporary surfaces creates a balanced focal point.

Wipe the metal surface gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove oils, avoiding chemical cleaners. Keep the item away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity to prevent the deterioration of internal organic elements beneath the glass.
