A very rare set of 4 Victorian Mahogany chairs.

We bring to you this very rare set of 4 original early Victorian C1840 Mahogany dining chairs in fantastic sympathetically restored condition.

These Regency inspired chairs represent the refined taste and craftsmanship of early 19th-century Britain. The chairs are made from all solid Mahogany, displaying rich tones and beautiful grain, complete with their original French polished finish throughout. Their design is a testament to Victorian classicism, with a distinctive crested bar back, the top rail and mid rail curves gracefully for both looks and comfort, offering great back support. The back legs curve outwards into the signature sabre leg form, which is typical of the period, providing stability and a sense of movement. The front legs are finely turned, ending in charming turned feet. The chairs have generously sized, drop-in seat pads currently upholstered in a brand new vibrant mustard yellow velvet chenille fabric. This contrasts with the Mahogany, offering a contemporary touch, the drop in seat pads allow for easy re-upholstery. The seat is complete with traditional padding inside providing comfortable seating, suitable for daily use as either formal dining or kitchen chairs. Condition and Provenance As antiques, these chairs show signs of age and use. While in good condition, expect minor marks consistent with historical pieces. The chairs have a strong design and are all structurally sound, with no major damage that would detract from their beauty or functionality.
