Description

AN EARLY STICK BAROMETER

with an architectural pediment and central brass finial. A large silvered engraved scale of the design Henry Pyefinch of London used with hygrometer, barometer scale and thermometer underneath with an engraved border. The hygrometer is adjusted by a crank key and has mechanical gearing behind to allow this. A well patinated mahogany case with the original base cover. A superb late 18th century stick barometer dating to circa 1780.
