Antique 3.50ct Burmese Sapphire, 1.65ct Diamond and 18ct White Gold Crescent Brooch Circa 1890

19th century
Sold by AC Silver
Description

A stunning, fine and impressive 3.50 carat Burmese sapphire and 1.65 carat diamond, 18 carat white gold crescent brooch; part of our diverse collection of antique crescent brooches.

This stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian sapphire brooch has been crafted in 18ct white gold.

The pierced decorated crescent shaped frame is embellished with seven pavé set graduated cushion cut Burmese sapphires, totalling 3.50cts.

The feature gemstones alternate with eight pavé set Old European cut diamonds totalling 1.65cts.

The impressive antique crescent brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety clasp.

This crescent brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold.

This impressive Victorian sapphire brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card, in addition to a sapphire report card and certificate supplied by the Gemmological Certification Services, London*.

Such examples with untreated Burmese sapphires are becoming increasingly difficult to locate; this brooch is one of the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

A Burmese sapphire crescent brooch offers elegant symbolism, making it an ideal gift for milestone birthdays, anniversaries or graduations — particularly for September birthdays or lovers of celestial and antique jewellery.

NOTE: * This documentation accredits the sapphire originating in Myanmar (Burma) and certifies that the gemstone shows no indications of heating.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone in this Victorian brooch.

Condition

This stunning antique crescent brooch is exceptional quality, set with impressive sapphires displaying fine colour, brilliance and presence.

The impressive high colour graded diamonds display a fine white colour and brilliance.

The sapphire and diamond brooch is an exceptional gauge of gold and is in exceptional condition.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this impressive example of sapphire jewellery.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
