Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mid-century emerald solitaire rings feature a single central emerald gemstone set into a precious metal band, reflecting the design aesthetics of the 1940s through the 1960s. These pieces often emphasize substantial gemstone proportions, tailored claw settings, and decorative shoulder detail.

Jewellers in the 1950s predominantly crafted ring mounts using yellow gold, white gold, or platinum, securing high-carat gemstones with multi-claw settings. Bands often incorporated hand-finished accents, such as split shoulders or leaf motifs, to balance larger gems.

Authentic pieces typically feature period-appropriate metal purity hallmarks or maker marks alongside hand-cut gemstone facets. Natural emeralds from this era commonly display visible internal inclusion patterns, known as jardin, when viewed under magnification.

A mid-century emerald solitaire serves as a standalone focal piece that complements modern minimalist attire and structured tailoring. Wearing additional rings on the same hand is generally minimized to allow the central gem to remain prominent.

Emeralds require gentle care using warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, followed by drying with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic cleaners, steam treatment, and harsh chemicals must be avoided, as they can weaken the stone or strip traditional oil treatments.
