Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A saddlebag face, traditionally known as a khordjin face, is the front panel of a double storage bag woven by nomadic Uzbek and Tartari weavers in Central Asia. These textiles were used for transporting household goods during animal migrations and feature dense geometric symbolism and flatweave techniques.

These woven pieces were typically constructed from hand-spun sheeps wool dyed with natural plant and mineral pigments. Weavers used flatweave methods such as extra-weft floating, slit-weave kilim, or banded weft-faced patterning to create durable and decorative storage containers.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-spun wool irregularities, natural abrash colour variations from plant dyes, and traditional tribal motifs rather than standardized commercial patterns. Examination of the back reveals hand-worked structure and age-appropriate wear without synthetic backing materials.

Saddlebag faces are frequently mounted and framed as textured wall art, displayed on acrylic mounts, or upholstered into decorative scatter cushions. Their bold geometric patterns complement bohemian, modern rustic, and eclectic interiors by adding tactile historical interest.

Keep flatweave textiles away from direct sunlight to prevent natural dye fading. Vacuum gently using a low-suction upholstery attachment without a rotating brush, and consult a specialist textile conservator for professional washing or mounting requirements.
