Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Bambou Tors pattern was produced by Baccarat during the late 19th century, characterised by its distinctive twisted ribbing or swirl motif. Originating in France, these pieces often feature coloured swirl accents integrated into clear lead crystal, reflecting the refined glassmaking techniques of the era.

These bottles were typically crafted from heavy lead crystal using mould-blown techniques to achieve precise geometric or swirling patterns. Coloured accents were created by incorporating coloured glass enamels or overlaid glass into the design before hand-finishing and fitting a matching stopper.

Authentic 19th-century Baccarat pieces frequently feature precise swirl patterns with smooth, polished pontil marks or seamless bases. Many earlier items predate etched logos and are identified by pattern characteristics, such as Bambou Tors, along with ground-glass stoppers custom-fitted to the bottle neck.

Displaying antique glass bottles on a vanity tray, bathroom shelf, or dressing table adds subtle texture and architectural interest. Grouping items of varying heights or pairing them with contemporary brass or marble accents creates an elevated, curated display.

Clean crystal bottles gently using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive sponges. Ensure the interior is thoroughly dry before replacing the stopper to prevent moisture buildup or glass clouding over time.
