The Silver Cabinet has dated this Silver Hat Pin Cushion to the 1920s.
The silver ring has applied rope twist bordered roundels of alternating eagles, roses and ouroboros (circular motifs of snakes swallowing their tail) motifs. Highly unusual and fabulous.

The Artificer's Guild was first set up in 1901 and despite financially problematic early years proved to be one of the few commercially successful craft guilds. Although initially led by Nelson Dawson, Edward Spencer was the most influential designer during the golden age of the guild.
