A fine and rare Worcester porcelain ‘Chelsea Ewer’ Milk Jug c.1760. Of spreading shape with spiral fluting and leaf moulding around the base, the handle with rococo moulding, painted with an unusual puce scrolling and sunburst border inside the rim and colourful flowers and butterflies on the outside in the manner of James Rogers.
A teapot in this pattern was in The Shand Kidd Collection, sold Sotheby''s London, 15 November 1994, lot 201.The R David Butti Collection, no 184. sold Bonham’s London, 10 May, 2006. See also lot 55 for a cup & saucer in the same pattern.
Condition: Excellent with no restoration. Just a couple of very small flea-bite sized chips to the rim
