Description

Oil on panel signed by the artist Winifred Wilson (1882 - 1973) mounted in a stunning painted wooden frame.

Painter in oil, a farmer by occupation, she studied art privately with Sir John Arnesby Brown. Went on to exhibit widely in the English provinces, and at the RA, ROI, at the Paris Salon and in America. The Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield, holds her work. She was a sister of the painters May and Violet Wilson. Lived at Barlow, near Sheffield.
