Bushells Antiques has dated this Victorian Diamond Star Brooch to the 19th Century.
Silver Star Brooch
72 carats of old European-cut diamonds. It is designed as star with six long arms, set throughout with cushion and elongated cushion shape old mine, rose and single-cut diamonds, mounted in patinated silver-topped gold.

This versatile jewel, a product of highly skilled workmanship, showcases fiery old diamonds whose brilliance pops against the dark silver.
Dimensions: 1.75" (4.5 cm) width. This is of heavy gauge and weighs 9.3 grams.

The Brooch with a centre large Diamond, six claw set, rose cut diamonds and each of the six stars with graduating, very small, rose cuts (2) and three graduating old cut diamonds to the centre. Each of the six stars approximately 0.50ct, totalling 3ct with a centre rose cut diamond of 0.72ct. Estimated total carat weight 3.72ct.
No hallmarks or stamps, tests as silver on 18 carat gold
Superb condition throughout with no issues and ready to wear.
