Gorgeous Walnut Bureaux - Tooled Leather Upper - c1900
This late Victorian Bureaux is presented in Walnut and is in excellent order.
This hugely stylish and very well kept item provides four drawers each with original functioning lock. To the sides of the upper drawer the drawer support slides pull out and these are typical of the quality of the piece being velvet topped.
A further sign of the quality of this bureaux is the exquisitely tooled skiver. The sloped writing flap opens to reveal a very well fitted interior - including twin drawers, letter slots, cubby holes and a miniture cupboard.
The walnut is presented superbly throughout the piece. The drawer fronts display excellent grain and have lovely brass handles with 'bat-wing' backplates.
The piece sits upon bracket feet.
Overall a wonderful example that is in excellent order throughout and rare to find in this condition and build quality.
