This is a scarce Victorian glass Lady''s Companion or She-wee which was used by ladies when travelling and who were caught short and needed to urinate. It was also probably a more desirable vessel to use than the facilities provided by many inns of the day and less expensive than a bourdaloue.The She-wee is in excellent condition for its age. It shows the light age related wear and tear consistent with some 100+ years of use. It has a rough pontil mark to the base.The She-wee consists of a flattened spherical reservoir and an oval shaped projection with a turned over rim; the device designed to cause minimum discomfort when used under voluminous skirts. It measures 13 cm (5.2 inches) in width by 18 cm (7.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
