Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Works by Allen and other artists for this series are regarded as more important and artistically significant—and command higher prices—than standard Doulton wares of the period. Underside with impressed shape number, painted pattern code, Royal Doulton factory mark, and RN 304 (design registration number). This example is a museum-quality piece that would be at home in any major collection of British Art Deco ceramics. Few examples with the white ground and in such perfect condition have survived, making this vase a rare find for advanced collectors.
