Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Spanish Baroque hall benches from this period typically feature heavy timber construction, scalloped aprons, trestle-style legs, and forged iron or timber stretchers. They reflect the ornate yet sturdy design tradition of historic Iberian furniture.

These benches were primarily crafted from native hardwoods such as walnut, oak, or chestnut. Construction techniques involved hand-planed solid timber panels, mortise-and-tenon joinery, and forged iron cross-braces for structural stability.

Authentic examples show signs of hand-tooling, such as adze marks on unexposed timber surfaces, aged patina around touchpoints, and traditional joinery rather than modern fasteners or uniform machine cuts.

Positioning the bench in an entryway, hallway, or behind a modern dining table creates a grounded focal point. Pairing dark timber with neutral walls and woven textiles highlights the graphic silhouette of the carved apron and legs.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish periodically to nourish the wood grain. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and fluctuating humidity levels to prevent timber movement or cracking.
