This is an interesting piece, it is a Traveling Writing Slope, it is a rare piece in design and craftsmanship. The desk has a section at the top for ruler, pens, ink bottles, candles, etc. in this section there are candelabra and sconces that fit at each side to light the user. Inside beneath the writing slope there are 4 secret drawers.

The desk is sound, it has a baize desk top, not original, the finish is well worn and has a charming appearance, it is 20” wide 12” deep and 8” high
