Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Heriz carpets originate from the Northwest region of Iran and are recognized for their distinct geometric compositions, bold central medallions, and corner spandrels. Unlike delicate curvilinear city rugs, Heriz textiles feature angular, stylised floral patterns rendered in robust hand-spun wool.

These carpets are hand-knotted using durable high-grade wool pile on a sturdy cotton warp and weft foundation. The wool is historically treated with natural plant-based and mineral dyes, resulting in saturated terracotta reds, deep navy blues, and sky blue accents.

Authentic Heriz carpets display characteristic geometric motifs, stepped medallions, and a relatively low knot density combined with thick, heavy-duty wool. Examining the underside reveals clear, hand-bound knotting with slight variations in symmetry typical of regional weaving.

A Heriz carpet serves as a focal point anchor in both contemporary and classical settings. The bold geometric artwork contrasts effectively against minimalist neutral furniture, exposed timber flooring, or dark wood panelling.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotating brush bar to prevent fiber damage. Rotate the carpet annually to ensure even wear and light exposure, and rely on professional rug restorers for deep cleaning or spill remediation.
