Antique '1828' Georgian 18ct Gold Jet Hair Mourning Ring

This breathtaking antique mourning ring features many faceted cut black jet stones that halo a hair locket centre, beautifully textured shoulders, and is modelled in 18ct Yellow Gold.

The back of the ring is fully engraved inside, reading "MARY SHARP, Ob: 30 DEC 1826 ae. 63. WILL SHARP OB: 22 JULY 1829 ae. 65"

Ob is the Latin abbreviation for obitus (death), and ae is short for aetatis or aetas (years or time of life).

This beautiful quality and highly collectable ring would make a great addition to any collection.
