This small mahogany tray still retains the original old trade label on the underside of the tray. It measures 10cm w x 7.2cm d. Childs & Son was a prominent 19th-century retailer based at 51 King''s Road, Brighton, operating approximately between 1839 and 1873. The company specialized in a wide array of high-quality goods, including:

Childs & Son trade labels, often found on items like Tunbridge Ware cribbage boxes and miniature gaming trays, indicate their role as both manufacturers and retailers of fine goods.
