Superb Pair of Old Sheffield Plate Communion Chalices / Goblets 1843

19th century
Description

This very large fine pair of communion chalices are made of Old Sheffield Plate. Bearing no makers marks but visibly seamed.

Both chalices have inlaid silver cartouches and are engraved for 'Presented by the Ladies of the Congregation to the Members of the Free Church in Saltcoats under the Ministry of the Revd David Landsborough 1843.' Lovely statuesque pieces.

In good condition with slight surface wear and some copper bleed to the raised edges.
