Description

On polished oak shield with ivorine plaque “Essex Farmers 1.3.39”. Embossed to the rear of the shield ‘Peter Spicer & Sons Taxidermists Leamington’ plus a four-digit serial number 4058.

For more information on this remarkable Victorian Taxidermy firm who has never been surpassed in the modelling of fox masks, see “A Record of Spicer’s” a book covering the history of this famous firm privately published by myself back in 2001.
