Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Western Americana bronze sculpture emerged in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, focusing on figurative depictions of indigenous peoples, frontiersmen, and wildlife from North American history. These pieces emphasise detailed realism, historical costuming, and expressive poses.

Traditional bronze figures were cast using either the lost-wax (cire perdue) process or sand casting methods. Molten bronze was poured into detailed moulds, cooled, hand-chased to refine facial and textile features, and finished with chemical patination to create subtle tonal variations.

Authentic period bronzes generally exhibit cold, heavy heft and evidence of hand-finishing, such as chasing marks along detail lines. Genuine patina shows natural wear on raised surfaces from handling, while the underside of the base often retains original mounting hardware or casting plaster.

Place bronze statuettes on timber surfaces such as bookshelves, mantelpieces, or executive desks to anchor the vignette with visual weight. Pairing metal sculptures alongside light stone, paper books, and textured foliage creates an engaging contrast of materials.

Dust bronze figures regularly using a soft, dry lint-free cloth or a soft-bristled brush to clean crevices. Avoid water, harsh chemical cleaners, or metal polishes, which strip the protective patina; apply microcrystalline wax sparingly once a year to guard against oxidation.
