Miniature Chest Of Drawers - Mahogany Salesman's Piece, Early Victorian.

Here is an absolutely charming miniature Chest of Drawers, made in the early to mid 19th century and used as a display piece for travelling salesmen to show their range of wares to to the customers (rather than haul full size furniture along the highways and byways of rural Britain!)
 
Standing just 35cm tall, this little gem has five drawers - two over three long ones, set off with small brass knobs, and would be great to house jewellery, curiosities or other treasures.
 
The mahogany is quite beautiful with a rich patina, and when the sun catches it, it really looks like it''s on fire - quite stunning. I''ve added a few photos of it in the sunshine just to show the effect.
 
The drawers are in great antique condition, meaning they have the surface wear of a couple of centuries of love and polish - personally I think that this adds to their considerable charm, but please do check out the photos to make sure that its for you.
