Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Traditional Chinese ink landscape paintings, or shanshui, focus on depicted natural scenery including mountains, rivers, and trees using varied brushwork techniques. Album leaves are compact, folded or bound formats historically favoured by scholars for intimate viewing and study.

These artworks are executed using natural animal-hair brushes, carbon-based ink stones, mineral pigments, and absorbent Xuan paper or silk. The works are often mounted on paper backings with silk borders for structural support.

Authenticity is evaluated through brushwork discipline, the quality of ink graduation, paper age characteristics, and the presence of artist seals carved from stone using traditional red vermilion paste. Provenance and signature stylistics consistent with mid-20th-century masters also aid identification.

Individual mounted leaves can be conservation-framed in simple modern timber mouldings and hung in minimal gallery arrangements. Alternatively, the complete album can be displayed flat or resting on a presentation stand atop a console table or bookshelf.

Paper-based artworks require display away from direct sunlight and harsh atmospheric changes to prevent discolouration and foxing. Frame these pieces using UV-filtering glass, acid-free museum mounting boards, and store in stable, climate-controlled environments.
