N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this Antique Oak Bracket Clock to the Victorian era.
DESCRIPTION:
The case incorporates some super detailing. A lovely feature is that the movement is lovely being quarter striking with a Westminster chime

The top has a lovely arched top which is carved to the front and flanked by brass finials. The door with lovely thick bevelled glass framed in brass and then surrounded with pretty carved detailing. This opens to access the dial. The dial chapter ring is silvered and beautifully etched with Roman Numerals with small Arabic numerals above, between the numerals is further beautifully etched. To the top left is the 'SLOW / FAST' regulation dial and to the top right is the 'CHIME/SILENT' selector which allows the chimes to be switched off if required. It is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. Below the dial is a further carved detailing.

To the sides there is a lovely fretted panel doors lined in green fabric, the door is opened by a latch which is fully working and allows the movement to be viewed / accessed.
The case is in nice condition, and has a lovely rich patina.

The clock is happily ticking and striking away. The clock chimes quarter of the Westminster tune on quarter past, half on half past, three quarters on quarter to as well as the full tune on the hour as well as the number of hours.

The movement is access via a door to the rear this has a lovely fretted panel which is lined in red fabric. The movement is stamped with with the ' W & H Sch' which is the trademark for the renowned makers Winterhalder & Hofmeier, GERMANY who made high quality clocks mainly for the English market. In addition this clock comes complete with it's winding key and pendulum.

The clock is Victorian.
CONDITION:
The case is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs just minor marks commensurate with age and use. The clock is happily ticking and striking away.
